In Poland, the higher education is in line with the Bologna Process – applied in all EU countries – based on three-cycle structure of studies and European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). It also facilitates students to complete part of their studies in different countries.
Bachelor studies last 3-4 years and grant you a title of Licencjat or Inżynier, which are equivalents to the Bachelor Degree. Master studies last between 1.5 – 2 years and grant you a professional title of Magister (Master Degree). There are also courses which are long-cycle studies (4.5 to 6 years), which also give you a title of Magister (usually in the fields of medicine, psychology, law etc.). The higher education institutions can be either private (paid) or public (free). Read more about the Polish higher education system here.
