Number of Mexicans in Poland – Statistics 2024

In recent years, the Mexican population has increased year after year, and 2024 has been no exception.

This is the fifth edition we have made about the number of Mexicans living in Poland. In 2018 there were only 463 Mexicans in this European country, and in 2022 the number increased to 853 Mexicans. If you are interested in reading the previous articles, you can do so at the following links:

Statistics of Foreigners Living in Poland 2024

To understand the number of Mexicans residing in Poland, we need to know the general picture of the foreigners living there.

According to the official Polish migration website (migracje.gov.pl) there are 912,729* foreigners living in Poland:

Only foreigners with temporary or permanent legal residence in Poland are considered; tourists or people living without any legal permission to stay in Poland are not considered.

  • 55.5% of foreigners are from Ukraine (506,719 people)
  • 14.7% of foreigners are from Belarus (134,198 people)
  • 2.9% of foreigners are from Georgia (26,789 people)

Some other interesting facts about foreigners residing in this country:

  • 62% are men and 38% are women
  • The average age of foreigners is 34 years old
  • The most popular age range of foreigners living in Poland is between 20 and 39 years old, which accounts for 52.85% of all foreigners living in Poland.
  • 25.32% of foreigners have their temporary or permanent residence in the Mazowieckie region
  • The Świętokrzyskie region is where the smallest number of foreigners live, accounting for 1.07% of the total foreign population (9,779 people).

Statistics of Mexicans Living in Poland 2024

In the case of our fellow citizens, in 2024 there are 1,085* Mexicans living in Poland. In the last 14 years, the Mexican population in this country has practically quadrupled. In 2010, there were only 245* Mexicans residing in Poland.

The number of Mexicans living in Poland only represents 0.12% of the total foreign population in Poland.

Compared to 2022, the Mexican population in this country increased by 27.19%. In 2022, there were only 853* Mexicans living in Poland.

Only Mexicans who have a temporary or permanent legal residence in Poland are considered; tourists or people who live without any type of legal permission to remain in Poland are not considered.

Types of Permits for Mexicans Residing in Poland

Of the 1,085 Mexicans living in Poland, the types of residence permits for Mexicans legally residing in the country are as follows:

  • Temporary residence: 848
  • Permanent residence: 231
  • Long-term residence in the European Union: 2
  • Residence for being a family member of a person who is a member of the European Union: 3
  • Residence for humanitarian reasons: 1

The number of Mexicans with some type of permanent residence increased by 21.58% compared to 2022.

Demographic data of Mexicans living in Poland

Of the 1,085 Mexicans living in Poland, these are the demographic data:

Sex:

  • 63.68% are men (691)
  • 36.32% are women (394)

Age:

  • The average age of Mexicans living in Poland is 33 years old
  • The most popular age range is between 20 and 39 years old ( 738 people )
  • There are 22 Mexicans who are between 60 and 79 years old
  • There are 78 young people (under 20 years old) residing in this country
  • There are 247 Mexicans between 40 and 59 years old
  • There is 1 Mexican over 80 years old living in this country

Regions where Mexicans live in Poland

Poland is divided into a total of 16 regions ( Województwa ) which allows us to understand a little about the distribution of Mexicans in this country. The tendency is that the majority of Mexicans in Poland reside in the regions where the most populated cities in Poland are located: Warsaw and Krakow.

  • Of the 16 regions in Poland, in 14 of them, the number of Mexican men is greater than the number of Mexican women.
  • No Mexican women are living in the Warmińsko – Mazurskie and Podlaski regions.
  • Only in the Świętokrzyskie region ( Kielce is the capital of this region) there are more Mexican women than Mexican men.

The three most popular regions among Mexicans

The first region where the most Mexicans live is Mazowiecki ( Warsaw is the capital of this region) with a total of 311 Mexicans :

  • 64.31% are men (200)
  • 35.69% are women (111)
  • The most popular age range in this region is 20-39 years old. (202 people)
  • 76.21% of Mexicans (237 people) have temporary residence
  • 73 Mexicans have permanent residence
  • There are 22 young people (under 20 years old) residing in this region

The second region where the most Mexicans live is Małopolski Krakow is the capital of this region) with a total of 269 Mexicans :

  • 60.97% are men (164)
  • 39.03% are women (105)
  • The most popular age range in this region is 20-39 years old. (184 people)
  • 82.53% of Mexicans (222 people) have temporary residence
  • 47 Mexicans have permanent residence
  • There are 23 young people (under 20 years old) residing in this region

The third region where the most Mexicans live is Dolnośląskie (Wrocław is the capital of this region) with a total of 101 Mexicans. This changed compared to 2022, as the Wielkopolski region  (Poznań is the capital of this region) had a total of 65 Mexicans making it the third most popular region for Mexicans to live in. This year alone it increased to 75 Mexicans in that region.

The least popular Polish regions where Mexicans live :

  • Opolski (Opole is the capital of this region): only 9 Mexicans are living in this region: 6 men and 3 women
  • Warmińsko-Mazurski ( Olsztyn is the capital of this region): only 5 Mexicans are living in this region: 5 men and 0 women
  • Świętokrzyski ( Kielce is the capital of this region): only 5 Mexicans are living in this region: 3 men and 2 women.
