We might think that with the pandemic that the world is currently experiencing, the number of foreigners or Mexicans in general who move to another country decreased … but in the case of Poland in 2021 the number of Mexicans living in this country increased again.
This is the third edition that we carry out on the number of Mexicans living in Poland, in 2018 there were only 463 Mexicans in this European country, and in 2020 the number increased to 631 Mexicans. In case you are interested in reading the previous articles, you can do so in the following links:
Statistics of Foreigners Living in Poland 2021
In order to understand the number of Mexicans residing in Poland, we need to know the general panorama of foreigners residing in this country.
According to the official Polish migration site (migracje.gov.pl) there are 506,754 * foreigners living in Poland:
- 55.8% of foreigners are from Ukraine (282,791 people)
- 6.92% of foreigners are from Belarus (35,091 people)
- 3.89% of foreigners are from Germany (19,750 people)
Some other interesting facts about foreigners residing in this country:
- 59.41% are men and 40.51% are women
- The most popular age of foreigners is 26 years old
- The most popular age range of foreigners living in Poland is between 20 and 39 years old, which represents 56.70% of all foreigners living in Poland.
- 26.36% of foreigners have their temporary or permanent residence in the Mazowieckie region
- The Świętokrzyskie region is where there are fewer foreigners living, they represent 0.99% of the total population of foreigners (5,038 people)

Statistics of Mexicans Living in Poland 2021
In the case of our nationals, in 2021 there are 724 * Mexicans living in Poland. In the last 11 years, the Mexican population in this country has practically tripled. In 2010 there were only 245 * Mexicans residing in Poland.
The number of Mexicans living in Poland only represents 0.14% of the total population of foreigners in Poland.
Comparing with the year 2020, the Mexican population in this country increased by 14.74%. In 2020 there were only 631 * Mexicans living in Poland.
*Only Mexicans who have a temporary or permanent legal stay in Poland are considered, they are not considered tourists, or people who live without any type of legal permission to stay in Poland.
Type of Permits of Mexicans residing in Poland
Of the 724 Mexicans living in Poland, the types of residence permits for Mexicans legally residing in the country are the following:
- Temporary residence: 512
- Permanent residence: 173
- Long-term residence in the European Union: 20
- Residence for being a relative of a person who is a member of the European Union: 19
The number of Mexicans with some type of permanent residence increased by 9.67% compared to 2020.
Demographics of Mexicans living in Poland
Of the 724 Mexicans living in Poland, these are the demographics:
Sex:
- 67% are male (485)
- 33% are women (239)
Age:
- The most popular age is 32 years
- The most popular age range is between 20 and 39 years old ( 542 people )
- There are 10 Mexicans who are between 60 and 79 years old
- There are 34 young people (under 20 years of age) residing in this country
- There are 138 Mexicans between 40 and 59 years old
- There are no Mexicans over the age of 80 living in this country
Regions where Mexicans live in Poland
Poland is divided into a total of 16 regions ( Województwa ) which allows us to understand a little the distribution of Mexicans in this country. The trend is that the majority of Mexicans in Poland reside in the regions where the most populated cities in Poland are located: Warsaw and Krakow.
Of the 16 regions in Poland, in 14 of them the number of Mexican men is greater than the number of Mexican women. Only in the region of Świętokrzyskie ( Kielce is the capital of this region) and Opolskie (Opole is the capital of this region) is where there are more Mexican women than Mexican men.
The three most popular regions among Mexicans
The first region where more Mexicans live is Mazowiecki ( Warsaw is the capital of this region) with a total of 240 Mexicans :
- 69% are male (166)
- 31% are women (74)
- The most popular age range in this region is from 20 to 39 years old. (179 people)
- 69% of Mexicans (165 people) have temporary residence
- 68 Mexicans have permanent residence
- There are 9 young people (under 20 years old) residing in this region
The second region where more Mexicans live is Małopolski ( Krakow is the capital of this region) with a total of 186 Mexicans :
- 80% are male (148)
- 20% are women (29)
- The most popular age range in this region is from 20 to 39 years old. (138 people)
- 80% of Mexicans (148 people) have temporary residence
- 35 Mexicans have permanent residence
- There are 12 young people (under 20 years old) residing in this region
The third region where the most Mexicans live is Dolnośląskie ( Wrocław is the capital of this region) with a total of 48 Mexicans . This changed compared to last year, since in 2020 the Łódzkie region ( Łódź is the capital of this region) had a total of 54 Mexicans, making it the third most popular region for Mexicans to live in. This year only 41 Mexicans reside in that region.

- The most popular age range in this region is from 20 to 39 years old. (40 people)
- 66% of Mexicans (32 people) have temporary residence
- 13 Mexicans have permanent residence
- There are 2 young people (under 20 years old) residing in this region
The least popular Polish regions where Mexicans live
- Warmińsko-mazurskie ( Olsztyn is the capital of this region): there are only 4 Mexicans living in this region: 3 men and one woman
- Świętokrzyskie ( Kielce is the capital of this region): there are only 5 Mexicans living in this region: 4 women and one man
- Opolskie (Opole is the capital of this region): there are only 5 Mexicans living in this region: 4 women and one man
In 2020, the Podlaskie region ( Białystok is the capital of this region) was where the least amount of Mexicans lived, the number of Mexicans increased from 4 to 9 Mexicans living in this region. There are only 4 Mexicans living in this region.
