Last weekend took place one of the most colourful events in Poland – The Light Festival in Łódź.
The festival started on Friday 28th of September, and finished on Sunday 30th of September, giving a perfect excuse to visit the 3rd largest city in Poland for the weekend! The show started at 7 pm and it lasted till midnight.
Thousands of people visited the city, as this is one of the best and most emblematic events in Poland during the year.
Łódź Changed Its Colours
The Light Festival had over 30 spots around the city center of Łódź. There was music, colors, shows and happy families which made the event a complete success one more time!
The main street of Łódź, and one of the most famous streets in Poland – Piotrkowska – changed its clothes for a few nights to receive all the visitors. Starting at Plac Wolności, there was a huge light show in one of the buildings – this was the first main attraction of the festival. Walking through Piotrkowska you encountered with children, moms, grandpas, couples, and even dogs walking with colorful outfits or lamps which made the journey even better! The main mall of the city – Manufaktura – was also part of this festival. There were really nice poker decorations and a giant wheel where you could have an unforgettable time!
On some of the buildings, there were shows every 10 minutes or so, where you could watch amazing animations full of color and music!
One Of The Best Events in Poland
This year, the light festival was again a complete success! The best part of this is that the entrance is always completely free! There are no queues so you can reach the attractions walking from different streets.
During this event you can find all kinds of shiny gadgets: hats, glasses, ties, shoes and many more! Also, in case you get hungry, don’t worry, along Piotrkowska street there are dozens of restaurants and in some streets you will find people selling Polish snacks like for example the cheese: Oscypek.
The event is really crowded, so my recommendation: if you go with children, buy them a balloon with lights or something shiny so you won’t lose a track on them!
Thank you Łódź for such an incredible event! See you next year!
